Sabbats

Here are the eight different sabbats in the Wiccan year. Typically they are celebrated from sunset to sunset the following day.

31^st October      -        Samhain also known as Halloween, Hallowmas, All Hallows                                     Eve, Festival of the dead

21^st December   -        Winter Solstice also known as Yule, Winter Rite, Midwinter

2^nd February      -        Candlemas also known as Imbolc, Oimelc and    Lady Day

 
21^st March         -        Spring Equinox also known as Ostara, Alban Eilir

 
1^st May             -        Beltane also known as May Day

 
21^st June           -        Summer Solstice also known as Midsummer, Litha

 
1^st August         -        Lammas also known as Lughnasadh, august eve

 
21^st September  -        Autumn Equinox also known as mabon

Samhain, Candlemas, Beltane and Lammas are the four major sabbats.

Winter Solstice, Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox are the four minor sabbats.
